Here is a tale of brave little Joe
Full of adventure, full of woe
He wanted to climb a mountain you see
The idea, it came from watching T.V!

Now wee Joe I’m afraid to say
Had never climbed before this day
But he thought that would be okay
He had been Googling yesterday

Then came the day and he set off
Dressed as his best mountaineer Goth

He started slow, the way was rough
But Joe was sure that he was tough
Soon he began to lose his pace
His throat was dry, his heart a race

Halfway up he stopped to rest
Took out his phone and began to text
After another uphill slog
He set up camp and began to blog

He missed the views, from where he sat
Far too busy on MSN chat
His blisters began to cause him pain
He had nothing to lose, and lots to gain

Then he began to get in a rage
He could not refresh his Facebook page
Towards the top, his way grew icky
Nothing like what he had read on Wiki

When he finally reached the top
He had ran out of battery and had a strop
With not being able to post on twitter
Our little Joe became a quitter

So with all his power spent
It was back down that poor Joe went
But this time round he was not fazed
In fact our Joe, was quite amazed

Without an LCD to view
Our mountaineer saw the world anew
He saw the sky, the clouds, the trees,
He was so enthralled, the rest was a breeze

He made it down, our little hero
And was never again ruled by the one and zero
